The new owner, Blair is doing a wonderful job at making Mcgees better. From a pinball machine, to darts, food on Sunday's & Monday's, constant activities and live music. Most recently there was a new AC unit installed to make for a comfortable place to hang out during the summer.
It makes me very SAD that Eric is selling the joint!! The only thing constant in life is change. Speaking of which, I hope the next owner gets CREATIVE and makes the place outstandingly comfortable!! Should be 420-friendly for example...

On Saturday July 29th we (my wife and sis Victoria, stopped in to cool off, it was 98, during a day of shopping in Nevada City. We were visiting Grass Valley to attend my nephew's wedding on July 29th at the Empire Mine State Park (outstanding wedding venue). To our surprise McGee's Annex is a retro bar where everyone knows your name and if you are new soon everyone knows your name. We felt very comfortable. Richie, the owner, made us feel at home. We do not drink but his lemonade was GREAT. Richie was extremely friendly and engaging. I recommend this Irish Pub to anyone visiting Nevada City. Lake Harmony PA
Best bar in Nevada city, definitely the highlight of our vacation. The owner is genuine and straightforward old school kind of man. Excellent bartender and host served up great drinks and gave us a tour of the place including the old jail located under the building. Thanks for the hospitality, see you again soon.
One of the best Bloody Mary's that I've had. I think it's more local people but very comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
